Frequently Asked Questions:

Q: I am interested in adopting a Great Pyrenees, what is the process?

A: First, be sure that you have done your homework about the Great Pyrenees breed. Then, talk it over with your family and make sure everyone agrees that a VERY large dog that barks will be a welcome addition in your household. After you decide that a Great Pyr is the right dog for you, please fill out and submit our online adoption form (click the link the left that says "Adoption Form" and proceed). One of us will contact you in a few days to discuss further.

Q: I am interested in adopting a Great Pyrenees puppy, does MHGPC Rescue ever have any available for adoption?

A: The majority of the GPs we get in rescue are between the ages of 1 and 4 years of age. Very rarely do we get Pyr puppies - although once in a while we do.

Q: I am interested in adopting a Great Pyrenees specifically to be a working dog on our ranch, can you help?

A: Most of the time we get Pyrs that are family pets, but occasionally we do get a working dog. Please contact us if you have specific requirements.

Q: I would like more information about the Great Pyrenees breed, where do I find more information?

A: Glad you asked! Please visit the Great Pyrenees Club of America for a great deal of useful information!

Q: I have a Great Pyrenees that I have to find a new home for, can MHGPC Rescue help?

A: Many times we are able to help. We recommend you e-mail us the pertinent details about your Pyr along with your contact information and a digital picture of your dog (if you have one). We do not have the room to foster Pyrs that are owner surrender, but we will help you find your Pyr a home if we can.
